Julie Goldman, M.D. is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disease and cataracts. Dr. Goldman is skilled in multiple forms of corneal transplantation including partial and full-thickness transplantation. She also performs laser eye surgery for vision correction, such as LASIK for vision correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Goldman is an expert in cataract surgery and is experienced in the correction of astigmatism. She has extensive experience with the use of multifocal and presbyopia-correcting lens implants. Dr. Goldman earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University followed by her medical degree at Columbia University. After completing her internship and fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at University of Illinois-Chicago in 2019, she went to work at Chicago Glaucoma Consultants. When Dr. Goldman is not working, she enjoys knitting, cooking, running, swimming, and skiing. She and her husband are looking forward to enjoying all that Maine has to offer and are excited to get onto the slopes this winter!
Dr. Goldman joined our Vision Care family in August 2021. She will be seeing patients primarily in the Bangor office with monthly clinics offered in the Presque Isle, Houlton and Dover-Foxcroft offices. Surgical services will be provided at both of our Ambulatory Surgery Centers located in Bangor and Presque Isle.
